The Lancashire Hotpots announced as Bolton Food and Drink Festival headliners

MUSIC will be on the menu in Bolton town centre this August bank holiday weekend.

The town’s 16th annual Bolton Food and Drink Festival will feature 88 free performances across two stages.

The music spans folk, rock, pop, indie and reggae, with live music stages giving a platform to several young performers and groups - including local acts.

Accomplished talent will share the spotlight with up-and-coming musicians. The main festival music stage is on Le Mans Crescent, while Victoria Square will host an acoustic stage.

On Friday The Jade Assembly, a Britpop guitar band from Bolton will headline. The next night, much-loved comedy folk band The Lancashire Hotpots, from St. Helens, will light up the main stage.

And Sunday night will see The Lottery Winners, a hotly-tipped band from Leigh, perform songs from their new album Something to Leave the House For.

Alternative reggae band Jeremiah Ferrari will bring their powerful punk and indie sound to close the festival in style on Monday.

The Real Ale Stage is where acoustic performers line up over the weekend, including the Buskers’ Ball on Sunday. There are also jazz concerts over the weekend from Live From Worktown, which is presenting music at venues across town including the Olympus Chippy.

And the Bolton Mela is a fringe event managed by Bolton Community Railway and the Hindu Forum to offer food and music at Bolton station.
