LETTERS TO THE EDITOR Cash no longer king

I aws taken aback recently when I visited a Charlotte, North Carolina, Smashburger. Taped to the restaurant’s point-of-sale terminals were signs indicating that cashiers would only accept credit and debit cards as forms of payment. No greenbacks and/or coins allowed.

Since when is the U.S. Treasury note no longer the official currency of the United States? My credit cards do not have a presidential image attached to them, nor do they bear the phrase “In God We Trust.”
